The Oakdale Civic Association is a community-based organization incorporated on November 8, 1989. Our mission is to advocate for the best interests of our community, and to ensure its wellbeing for future generations.
The Oakdale Civic Association board is committed to working with our members in order to realize that vision. The board is composed of local leaders in education, business, environmental welfare, and more.
Brian Burger
President
Brian is a mortgage lending executive with over 20 years of experience in finance and IT. An Oakdale resident for over a decade with children in Connetquot schools, he is a dedicated community volunteer who uses his expertise in budget management to serve the Civic Association and support local initiatives.
Roger Lehneis
Vice-President
Roger is a healthcare consultant focused on enhancing operational efficiency. As a resident since 2006, he is passionate about preserving Oakdale’s historic character. In his role, he is committed to fostering transparency and working with residents to strengthen the community for the future.
Jeanne Love
Treasurer
Jeanne has been a resident of Oakdale for over 50 years and attended the Idle Hour Elementary School, as did her children. Jeanne is a retired Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services. She is committed to preserving Oakdale’s unique natural landscape and beauty and looks forward to working with the civic association on these and many other important issues that will benefit the Oakdale community. Jeanne also enjoys working with her service and support animals, Henry and Nina, both Labrador Retrievers. In her spare time, Jeanne enjoys spending time on the Connetquot River with her husband and children.
Danielle Melnyk, DVM
Recording Officer
Danielle has been an Oakdale resident since 2019 and is the proud mother of two young children in the Connetquot School District. As a veterinarian and community advocate, she values service and collaboration. Danielle is committed to supporting local initiatives, preserving Oakdale’s character, and helping maintain the strong sense of community that makes Oakdale home.
